ಅದು ಸೂರ್ಯಮರೆಯಾಗುವ ಸಮಯ, ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಮನೆಯತ್ತ ಹೊರಡುವಾಗ,ಬಸ್ಸಾಗಾಗಿ ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಬಸ್ಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಯುವತಿಯತ್ತ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪುರುಷ ಸಹ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ,ದುಡ್ಡು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಅಸಭ್ಯವಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದ. ಯುವತಿ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೆಡದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿ, ಬೈದಾಗ,ಅಲ್ಲಿದ ಕಾಲ್ಕಿತನ್ನು.ಇಂತ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದ ಆಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿ ಕುಳಿತ ಎರೆಡೆ ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲೇ, ಆತ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ದಾಂಡಿಗನ ಜೊತೆ ಬಂದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಸಭ್ಯವಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸತೊಡಗಿದ, ಭಯಗೊಂಡ ಯುವತಿ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬಸ್ಸ್ ಹತ್ತಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಾಡಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟಳು.ಇದು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಟ್ಟು ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ದಿನ ನಿತ್ಯ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು [...]

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಂತಹ ಮಹಾನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ , ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ಹಲವಾರು ನಾಯಕರು ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬದಲವಣೆಯ ಚುಕ್ಕಾಣಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿರಿವ ಹಲವು ಜನನಾಯಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಮೇಶ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಕೂಡ ಒಬ್ಬರು, ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ನಿಂತು ಹಲವಾರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇತರೆ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನೂ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಸಮಾಜಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, ಜನಪರ ನಾಯಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗು ಯುವಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಂತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಿ.ಪ್ಯಾಕ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಗೋವಿಂದರಾಜನಗರ ನಗರ ವಾರ್ಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಬಹಯತೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತ ಬಂದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪರಿಸರಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಗಣೇಶ ಚತುರ್ಥಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಹಾಗು ಪಿ.ಒ.ಪಿ ಗಣೇಶಗಳ ಬಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಪರಿಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಾನಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ [...]

Bengaluru Heritage: Nageshwara Temple, Begur
“You don’t stumble upon your heritage. It’s there, just waiting to be explored and shared” (stated by Robbie Robertson) Here’s a piece of our heritage in Bengaluru that dates back to almost 1000 years. Unfortunately, we turned a blind eye towards it. “The Nageshvara Temple, Begur” is the heritage structure we are referring to. The Panchalinga (five Shiva lingas) in the temple marks its distinctive feature.
