B.PAC launched the sixth batch of B.PAC Civic Leadership Incubator Program (B.CLIP)
B.PAC launched the sixth batch of B.PAC Civic Leadership Incubator Program (B.CLIP) in the presence of Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, President B.PAC and PGR Sindhia, National Working President, JDS on Sunday 23rd 2018 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
The call for applications began in early July and we received 154 applications and out of these 108 were screened in the first round, followed by a written test assessing their knowledge in politics and public administration. Later these candidates had a personal interview by a panel. After rigorous rounds of assessments, 65 applicants were selected for the B.CLIP Batch 6.
Speaking during the launch Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, urged all the new participants to lead the change, transform the city and be problem solvers. She asked all the B.CLIP participants to be brand ambassadors of political integrity. She lauded the victory of B.CLIP Alumna Mrs Sowmya Reddy on becoming the MLA of Jayanagar constituency and urged her to be the brand ambassador of B.CLIP.
This was followed by a panel discussion on “ROLE OF GRASS ROOT CIVIC AND POLITICAL LEADERS IN GOVERNING BENGALURU CITY”. This moderated session by Revathy Ashok had PGR Sindhia, National Working President, JD-S, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, President, B.PAC and Nitin Pai, Co-Founder, Takshashila Institution as the panel members. During the discussion, the panel highlighted the need for community building efforts and citizen involvement in governance.
Members from B.CLIP Alumni Association shared a plan of working with the citizens at wards. B.CLIP Civic Leaders committed to constructively engage with citizens, Elected Representatives and civic agencies officials in their neighborhood to demonstrate positive action on the ground.
